What is the difference between grass fed and finished and steakhouse?

Organic Grass Fed & Finished Beef (Certified Organic)

Certified USDA Organic cattle are raised on 100% Organic Grass from birth while grazing in open Colorado pastures, never in a feed lot. Very lean beef with little to no fat content. Always Antibiotic and Hormone free.

Steakhouse Beef (Steakhouse)

Cattle are fed an optimized mixture of Prosper Farms Colorado Grown Hay, Natural Native Grass, Corn and Distillers Spent Grain. Raised and marketed for high end steakhouses, you can enjoy the same top-notch quality at home from Prosper Meats with our Prosper Steakhouse cuts. Always Hormone free.

Do we accept EBT (government food assistance) cards?

Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accept EBT cards.

 

 Do we offer military/first responder/healthcare worker discounts? 

At this time we do not but we are working on this for the future.

How do you order? Is an account required?

Ordering is so easy! You may place your order directly on this site and no account is required.

 

Do we have a storefront?

We do not but if you live in the Denver-area and would like to pick-up your order from our facility, just write that in your order notes before you check out. 

 

How is the meat packaged and shipped?

All our meat is vacuum sealed and labeled and then wrapped in butcher paper. We ship in cooler boxes with dry ice so your meat arrives frozen.

 

Where are the cows raised and in what conditions?

We raise our own cows in eastern Colorado. Learn more here.

 

What breeds are the cattle?

All are English breeds, Angus-based with Herfer and Red Devon. These are known for marbling, tenderness and flavor.

 

What is the typical age of the cattle?

Organic: 2 years old

Steakhouse: 1.5 years old

 

What is the average hanging weight? 

Steakhouse: ~900lbs

Organic: ~700lbs

 

How do I get free shipping?

If your meat is being delivered in Colorado and you spend at least $85 on product before tax, you will automatically receive free shipping at checkout.
