Chef Talk by Prosper Meats
Prosper Meats was a part of Slow Food Nations Food Festival, and it was a huge success.
We are partnered with some famous national and local chefs, and they took center stage at the Prosper Meats food tasting table at SFN. Chefs Fernando Ruiz, Lon Symensma, and Jason Nauert loved serving up our grass fed, grass finished beef to the festival goers at Slow Food Nations, and from the feedback we received, it was clear that people loved eating it.
We are grateful for these chefs to have partnered with us in many of our projects, and we are happy they were able to help Prosper Meats have such a fantastic showing at Slow Foods Nations.
Chef Talk
An added, unexpected benefit of having these chefs cook our high-quality beef at Slow Food Nations was that we got to hear some detailed conversations from these culinary professionals about their lives and their love of all things cooking. As these conversations were unfolding, we realized that it would be a shame if we were the only ones to hear them. Upon hearing a long talk between Chefs Fernando Ruiz and Jon Symensma, we asked if we could pause them and set up a camera to record their conversation so more viewers could be a part of it. Thankfully, they obliged.
The result is a recording of an extensive, candid conversation between these two renowned chefs that we have divided into separate episodes in a series we are calling “Chef Talk”. This eight-episode series is an in-depth look at a wide range of topics they discussed, including their backgrounds, their aspirations for the future, and insights into their favorite foods as well as why they choose only top-notch ingredients like Prosper Meats.
- Chef Fernando Ruiz is a FoodNetwork “Chopped Champion” and “Guy’s Grocery Games Champion”. Truly a story of inspiration, Chef Ruiz has come from a difficult background and worked his way to become a rising celebrity chef who is particularly passionate about beef and barbecue.
- Chef Lon Symensma is a James Beard finalist, Food & Wine “Best New Chef” nominee, and restaurateur whose innovative cuisine has allowed one of his restaurants, ChoLon, to be ranked in 5280 Magazine’s “25 Best Restaurants” list for 4 years running.
